From the Principal!

Howdy Fabra Families!

Tonight is our annual Howl at the Moon – Fall Festival, and we can't wait to see everyone there! Rain or shine, the fun begins when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. Just a reminder that this is a cashless event, so please plan accordingly. We are looking forward to a great evening with our Fabra Family!
We had a fantastic week celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Thank you to all of our Falcons who participated in the themed dress-up days and joined us in learning about the importance of making healthy choices. We capped off the week today with Book Character Day and our 1st Grade Pumpkin Parade. It was so much fun seeing everyone's creativity and excitement!
A big shout-out to our Fabra Student Council, who were awarded the TEPSA Student Leadership Award for the third consecutive year! This award recognizes the leadership, service, and support they provide to our campus and community throughout the school year. We are incredibly proud of these student leaders, as well as their sponsors, and all they do to make Fabra a special place!
We also want to extend a huge thank you to our PTO and all the families who contributed to today's "Crocktober" staff luncheon. The food was delicious, and it was such a thoughtful and appreciated treat for our staff. We are grateful for a community that continually finds ways to support and celebrate our teachers and staff!
We hope to see everyone tonight at Fall Fest! Have a wonderful weekend, Fabra Family, and be sure to check out the rest of the newsletter for other news, updates, and upcoming events. Stay dry, and we'll see you soon!

CAUGHT READING!
Throughout the school year, teachers and I will be “catching kids reading”—and that’s a great thing! When a student is caught reading, they’ll receive a special ticket. They’ll write their first and last name, along with their grade level, on the ticket and drop it into the jar at the library checkout desk.
Every Tuesday, I’ll draw one ticket during the morning announcements. The lucky reader will win some fun library swag!
This week's winner is Angel Delgado-Ortiz in 3rd grade!

LIBRARY BOOKS

It makes me so happy to see so many of our students and families prioritizing books and reading. Thank you for helping foster a love of reading in our school community!

Help Us Reach Our Falcon Funds Goal!

Thank you to the families who have already supported Falcon Funds! We have received $7,000.00 toward our goal, and we truly appreciate your generosity.
Falcon Funds allows us to  support meaningful experiences and incentives for our students, including field trips, academic supports, student and teacher incentives, character celebrations, STAAR snacks, and more. Most importantly, 100% of your donation goes directly to Fabra Elementary to support our students and staff.
If you haven’t had a chance to contribute, we would greatly appreciate your support. Donations can be sent to school in your child’s green folder, or you can donate online using the link provided below.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach our goal and provide even more opportunities for our Falcons. Thank you for continuing to support Fabra!

Calling All Falcon Fathers!

Spend the day at Fabra!
Falcon fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures....Would you like to volunteer for at least one day each year? During the day, Falcon Fathers may read to a classroom, play at recess, help out in P.E, eat lunch with students and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, Falcon Fathers are given a brief review of their involvement and get to wear an official Falcon Father t-shirt.

Please limit your initial sign-up to only ONE date, and additionally sign-up for the "Waitlist" slot if you would like to be notified of last minute openings that would allow you to participate again.
