From the Principal!

Howdy Fabra Families!

What a great week at Fabra! One of the highlights was getting to recognize all of our grade levels during our First Nine Weeks SOAR Assemblies. We celebrated students for their character, academic honor roll achievements, and perfect attendance. We also had the opportunity to celebrate our perfect attendance Falcons during their attendance parties this week. We are so proud of our students and their hard work!
If you need help viewing your child’s first nine-week achievements, Boerne ISD provides helpful guides, links, and video tutorials for Skyward Family Access. Visit https://www.boerneisd.net/83891_4 to learn how to access report cards and progress reports, set up grade and attendance alerts, and download the mobile app.
Today, we wore purple to celebrate our Boerne High School Greyhounds as they take the field for Homecoming tonight. We wish them the best of luck! We are also cheering on our Champion Chargers as they face the defending state champions, Smithson Valley. Both Boerne teams remain undefeated, and it has been an exciting season for our local football programs. Good luck to both teams!
Our Green Machine Run Club also had a special visit from the YMCA this week. They presented our runners with last year’s trophy for having the largest group participate in the YMCA Turkey Trot! We are proud of our Falcons and invite all of our families to join in the fun this year. Information about registering for the Turkey Trot can be found below in the newsletter.
Next week, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week! Be sure to check out the themed dress-up days listed below as we teach our Falcons the importance of making smart, healthy choices. We will also warp up the week with one of our biggest annual events of the year, Howl at the Moon – Fall Festival! Thank you to everyone who has already donated and helped make this event possible. We appreciate your continued support!
Have a wonderful weekend, Fabra Family, and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!

Fabra Farewell to Mrs. Amy!

Today, we said farewell to Mrs. Amy as she prepares to move up to middle school and begin a new adventure next week at Boerne Middle School North! We are so thankful for the love, care, and support she has shared with our staff, students, and families over the years. While we will certainly miss her at Fabra, we know she will continue to do wonderful things and make a difference in the lives of students at the middle school level. Mrs. Amy, we wish you the very best in this exciting new chapter. Once a Falcon, always a Falcon!

YMCA Turkey Trot Info!!

Our Green Machine Run Club is gearing up for YMCA Turkey Trot on November 21st at Main Plaza.  We have been the largest group to participate for the last five years, and we are planning to make it a sixth straight year! WE invite all of our families who would like to participate to consider joining us!   The YMCA has graciously provided a discount code so that our staff and family members can participate at a discounted cost.  While we will have staff members at the event and participating in the race, all students will need a guardian at the event the whole time, and we also encourage a family member to participate with them.

Please note that the coupon code is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown. The code is valid for adult 5K registrations from October 6 through October 31 at midnight.

For our younger runners:
  • Children age 11 and under can register for the 5K for $25 through November 20.
  • The 1-Mile Walk is $20 for children age 11 and under through October 31. After October 31, the price increases to $25.
  • No discount code is needed for children. The reduced registration price is automatically applied based on age.
Important: To guarantee a Turkey Trot T-shirt and participation medal, participants must be registered by October 31.

CAUGHT READING!
Throughout the school year, teachers and I will be “catching kids reading”—and that’s a great thing! When a student is caught reading, they’ll receive a special ticket. They’ll write their first and last name, along with their grade level, on the ticket and drop it into the jar at the library checkout desk.
Every Tuesday, I’ll draw one ticket during the morning announcements. The lucky reader will win some fun library swag!
This week's winner is Emilia Simon in 2nd grade!

Help Us Reach Our Falcon Funds Goal!

Thank you to the families who have already supported Falcon Funds! We have received $7,000.00 toward our goal, and we truly appreciate your generosity.
Falcon Funds allows us to  support meaningful experiences and incentives for our students, including field trips, academic supports, student and teacher incentives, character celebrations, STAAR snacks, and more. Most importantly, 100% of your donation goes directly to Fabra Elementary to support our students and staff.
If you haven’t had a chance to contribute, we would greatly appreciate your support. Donations can be sent to school in your child’s green folder, or you can donate online using the link provided below.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach our goal and provide even more opportunities for our Falcons. Thank you for continuing to support Fabra!

Calling All Falcon Fathers!

Spend the day at Fabra!
Falcon fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures....Would you like to volunteer for at least one day each year? During the day, Falcon Fathers may read to a classroom, play at recess, help out in P.E, eat lunch with students and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, Falcon Fathers are given a brief review of their involvement and get to wear an official Falcon Father t-shirt.

Please limit your initial sign-up to only ONE date, and additionally sign-up for the "Waitlist" slot if you would like to be notified of last minute openings that would allow you to participate again.
