From the Principal!

Howdy Fabra Families!

I hope everyone had a great Fall Break and enjoyed some time to relax and recharge! We kicked off the second nine weeks this Wednesday, and grades are now available to view in Skyward. Take some time to check in with your kiddos, celebrate their progress, and talk about goals for the weeks ahead as we continue working toward growth for every student.

This week, we also had the privilege of officially cutting the ribbon on our new Fabra track! We cannot say thank you enough to our PTO, our incredible donors, Sonora Bank, and all of our students and families who worked so hard to help raise funds last year. This is such a wonderful addition to our campus, and we are excited for our Falcons to enjoy it for years to come!

Speaking of an incredible community, we were blessed to welcome the Boerne Fire Department to Fabra this week in celebration of Fire Prevention Week. Our students had the opportunity to learn important lessons about fire safety while having a little fun along the way. We are grateful for our community partners who take the time to invest in our students!

Finally, a big thank you to all of our All Pro Dads who joined us bright and early this morning for our monthly meeting. We had a great crowd, and it was wonderful to see so many dads and father figures making time to connect with their Falcons before the school day began.

Need help navigating Skyward Family Access? Boerne ISD provides helpful guides, links, and video tutorials at https://www.boerneisd.net/83891_4. Learn how to download the mobile app, set up grade and attendance alerts, and easily view your child’s report cards and progress reports.

Thank you for another great week, Fabra Family! Have a wonderful weekend, and be sure to check out the rest of the newsletter for other important updates and upcoming events.

YMCA Turkey Trot Info!!

Our Green Machine RUn Club is gearing up for YMCA Turkey Trot on November 21st at Main Plaza.  We have been the largest group to participate for the last five years, and we are planning to make it a sixth straight year! WE invite all of our families who would like to participate to consider joining us!   The YMCA has graciously provided a discount code so that our staff and family members can participate at a discounted cost.  While we will have staff members at the event and participating in the race, all students will need a guardian at the event the whole time, and we also encourage a family member to participate with them.

Please note that the coupon code is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown. The code is valid for adult 5K registrations from October 6 through October 18 at midnight.

For our younger runners:
  • Children age 11 and under can register for the 5K for $25 through November 20.
  • The 1-Mile Walk is $20 for children age 11 and under through October 31. After October 31, the price increases to $25.
  • No discount code is needed for children. The reduced registration price is automatically applied based on age.

Help Us Reach Our Falcon Funds Goal!

Thank you to the families who have already supported Falcon Funds! We have received $6,700.00 toward our goal, and we truly appreciate your generosity.
Falcon Funds allows us to  support meaningful experiences and incentives for our students, including field trips, academic supports, student and teacher incentives, character celebrations, STAAR snacks, and more. Most importantly, 100% of your donation goes directly to Fabra Elementary to support our students and staff.
If you haven’t had a chance to contribute, we would greatly appreciate your support. Donations can be sent to school in your child’s green folder, or you can donate online using the link provided below.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach our goal and provide even more opportunities for our Falcons. Thank you for continuing to support Fabra!

Calling All Falcon Fathers!

Spend the day at Fabra!
Falcon fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures....Would you like to volunteer for at least one day each year? During the day, Falcon Fathers may read to a classroom, play at recess, help out in P.E, eat lunch with students and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well. On the day of their participation, Falcon Fathers are given a brief review of their involvement and get to wear an official Falcon Father t-shirt.

Please limit your initial sign-up to only ONE date, and additionally sign-up for the "Waitlist" slot if you would like to be notified of last minute openings that would allow you to participate again.

From the Library

CAUGHT READING!
Throughout the school year, teachers and I will be “catching kids reading”—and that’s a great thing! When a student is caught reading, they’ll receive a special ticket. They’ll write their first and last name, along with their grade level, on the ticket and drop it into the jar at the library checkout desk.
Every Tuesday, I’ll draw one ticket during the morning announcements. The lucky reader will win some fun library swag!
This week's winner is Tate Patton in Pre-K!

LIBRARY BOOKS

📚 It’s Book Fair Time! 📚

Students will only return to the Book Fair if they bring money to make a purchase.

Our goal is to provide a smoother, easier experience for everything you do with us — shopping Fabra spiritwear, registering for events, and making donations — whether you’re on your phone or your computer.
Sign up today! Registration is free, and you’ll need an account to access school events, so don’t wait. Creating an account is the best way to stay up to date on all PTO activities and happenings throughout the year.
Check back often — they'll be rolling out new features all year to help parents, teachers, PTO board members, and administrators collaborate better in support of our students.
